Sometimes I take my crush on gadgets too far. Today I filled a prescription for a glucometer. I don’t have diabetes or any other medical condition requiring capillary blood glucose monitering, but when the drug rep was telling me that my patients could get the monitor free I had my intern write me a script.
I’m now the proud owner of a One Touch Mini.
I guess I’ll use it when patients are unresponsive and I’m having trouble finding a nurse to do an Accucheck.
